What Plus Size Lounge Wear to Wear When You’re at Home ALL DAY
Lots of folks are returning to work in the next few weeks; but if you’re like me, chances are you’re at home for a little while longer. I have been working from home since mid-March and while I LOVE rolling out of bed and working from the comfort of my home, I also was starting to miss actually putting looks together and I was really just throwing on anything! The past few weeks I decided to step it up and put on some “real” clothes while I sit at home (except for denim, I will NEVER wear denim to sit at home – I’m not a psychopath).
Here are the three looks that have been my go-to while I’m working from home:
What to Wear at Home Look #1: Plus Size Lounge Sets
Whether we’re at home or not, I LOVE a matching set – a casual matching set or a dressy matching set, don’t matter, I love a set. And my loungewear is NO different! I bought this super pretty burnt sienna colour ribbed three-piece set from Venus a few weeks ago. I had never shopped at Venus’ website before, so I was pleasantly surprised at both the fit and price. All three pieces were on sale and I got the WHOLE set for $51 with shopping (it was $7.99 for the bralette top, $13.59 for the trousers and $18.39 for the long cardigan + shipping). The sizing runs large; I am wearing a 1x in all three pieces and I am DEF wearing a size 18/20 at the moment.
This set really hits all of my high points: it’s great quality, there’s some good stretch and it looks really pulled together and chic.
BONUS points: I would definitely wear this out of the house (when we’re allowed out of the house again, of course) and we love versatile pieces around here. This particular set is sold out (whomp whomp) but I have a few different options at the end of this post.
What to Wear at Home Look #3: Plus Size Lounge Dresses
I’m always going to be a dress girl. Dresses make up about 85% of my entire wardrobe and I wear them most of the time – quarantine is no exception. This dress and long cardigan look has been repeated multiple times and will be repeated many many MANY more. This black maxi dress was an affordable find from Forever21 a few years ago and can you believe it still fits? And I’ve gotten SOOOO much wear out of it. I threw on an open, long-line cardigan from Banana Republic to complete the look. The loose-fitting dress and a long line cardigan are wardrobe staples, so many of us have these pieces already. However, in case you need some new pieces, scroll down to the bottom of this post for some options.
What to Wear at Home Look #3: Plus Size Athleisure
At this point, we can all agree that the athleisure look is no longer a trend; it’s a staple, and it makes total sense: you get the comfort of yoga pants without looking like a slob and IDK about you, but athleisure is extra flattering for me. As my style has changed, I have opted out of wearing athleisure in public, but I still have some great pieces I can pull from for my “put together but comfy” WFH looks. I got this matching athletic set from plus size athletic GOAT Old Navy probably two years ago. The flowers are SOOOO spring and summery and it has ya girl SNATCHED! This set sold out so quickly when I first got it; but never fear, at the end of this post are some current athleisure options for you.
Whether you’re at home from work or school or you just want some ideas to refresh your casual wardrobe, there are so many options to look chic and pulled together while still being comfortable. What are you wearing at home these days? Let me know in the comments or over on Facebook and Instagram!
