Hot Girl Summer? Up Next is Plus Size Fall…
In honour of the First day of fall, I am kicking off my new Fall fashion trends series “plus size fall 2019 trends.” And I am so excited. I am exploring five hot trends for the fall for curvy bodies. And let me tell you, I am loving the trends I am seeing pop up this season: puff sleeves, (faux) leather, over-sized blazers, etc. I love it all. You know my favourite thing is a fashion we can wear in all areas of our lives, so these pieces are right up my alley.
Today, I am sharing the first of FIVE trends: Romance.
Plus Size Fall Trend: Romance is in the Air
We saw the romantic trend emerge earlier in the year. Creamy whites, florals, gauzy and light fabrics and pronounced puff sleeves marked this fabulous look. I definitely took to it immediately, because I love the feminine look and feel of the pieces. I even shared several pieces earlier this summer that had this romantic feel. Did I over-indulge in my purchases? Yes. Do I remotely regret it? Nope. Because this trend is gonna continue into the Fall. Puff sleeves, especially, are going to continue to be a BIG thing (as you can see from last night’s Emmy’s fashions). The best thing about this trend is you can totally play it up and go big, or you can tone it down and still be totally on trend.
Get You a Puff Sleeve Top This Fall!
I seriously own close to TEN puff sleeve tops and dresses. They have been everywhere and come in a variety of styles – from sexy to demure and everything in between. I wore a super casual one from Pretty Little Thing with jeans and I’ve worn them to work over the summer with printed skirts and relaxed trousers. I have worn this particular Fashion Nova top (only available in a 3X, sorry!) at least 10 times this summer. It’s super versatile and can be worn like a crop top (like I have on here) OR tucked into a high-waisted skirt or jeans.
It’s not a top I would wear to the office; because of the lace-up detail at the bust. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get lots of use out of it; I’ve worn it casually with over-sized boyfriend jeans and flat sandals, and with a satin leopard-print skirt for a “sexier” date-night look.
My top might be almost completely sold out, but I have five affordable options for you below!
